Rolex GMT-Master II Steel 16710 – 2003 ”sealed”

The Rolex GMT-Master II (Ref. 16710) from the year 2003 in the condition “sealed” (New Old Stock – NOS) is today an absolute rarity for collectors.

What makes this vintage (2003) special

• Case: During this period (Y- or F-series), the transition to cases without drilled lugs (“no holes”) took place. A 2003 model therefore appears somewhat more modern and cleaner.

• Dial: It is a Super-Luminova dial (marked with “Swiss Made” at 6 o’clock), which unlike tritium no longer yellows but remains pure white and glows green.

• Movement: The reliable Caliber 3185 with independently adjustable hour hand for the second time zone.

What does “sealed” mean?

• Original condition: The watch still has all factory protective films from 2003 (green seal sticker on the case back, transparent side protective films).

• Unworn: It has never been worn on the wrist, the bracelet has no “stretch” and the edges are razor-sharp.

• Collector’s value: The “sealed” status massively increases the price. Such watches are often kept as investment pieces in a safe, as removing any of the films would immediately reduce the market value by several thousand euros.
